Training Course - Safety Representatives

SAFETY REPRESENTATIVES

INTRODUCTION

This 2 day course is designed for those employees who wish to take on the role of Safety Representative for the workforce.

The course will cover the following elements:

· Legislation
· Safety Representatives and Safety Committees Regulations 1977
· Health & Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996

· Role of the Safety Representative
· Who can take on the role
· Who elects or appoints them
· What can they do
· Who do they consult with

· Functions of the Safety Representative
· Tasks they can carry out
· Consulting with the employer on behalf of the workforce

· Safety Committees
· When should they be set up


ASSESSMENT

Delegates will be required to complete a question paper at the end of the course.

A Certificate will be awarded to those delegates who reach a satisfactory standard.
